THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING TRADITIONAL COPPER POT REFURBISHED WITH NEW ARTISAN HAND WIPED TIN AND A PROFESSIONAL SHINE

This is actually a Marmite about as same high as it is wide - known as a domestic Faitout. This term originated in the 19th century, in essence every home had one and it did everything needed in the kitchen. This pot is narrow and tall enough however, to use as a soup pot or 'Soupiere' - a quality really ' Does Everything!'

This pot has been refurbished so it retains what makes it special but it still has all the badges of honour that you would expect a pan of this age and heritage to have. It is made from 1.4mm copper.

It has been refurbished, professionally polished and re-tinned using 100 % quality tin.

The handles are fixed securely with three copper rivets. The lid has a very slightly wavy edge from years of use and cleaning, it still fits beautifully. There is a very minor rock but it sits relatively flat.

This pan is in remarkable condition. There are some scratches on the base and sides. There are two minor edge dents. There are some utensil dents in the inside base - covered well gy the new tin. There are some darker marks on the copper surface. There are signs of wear and use. This is a testament to the amount of quality work this pan has done over many years. It has been refurbished sympathetically to retain its history and also the ensure its future.
